Kirkland, Jasper

Jasper Kirkland was baptised on the 17th June 1896 at St Edmund’s in Allestree the son of Henry and Hannah Kirkland.
In 1901 the family were living on Duffield Road moving to Markeaton by 1911 where Jasper is working as a farm servant.
He enlisted on the 10th December 1915 and his address was given as Kedleston Road, Toll-Bar and his height stated as 5ft 4ins. He joined the 4th North Staffordshire Regiment. Little is known of his war service other than he was repatriated as a prisoner of war.
Jasper died in 1937 in Leeds.
